Xan has been wanting to go out for a hike for awhile. Her last time out was when Hannah was a baby. We decided to go for a shorter, easier hike to ease into it and headed out to the Columbia River Gorge to Bridal Veil Falls.

Xan had a lot of fun. Here we are at the top of Coopey Falls. She wanted me to take a picture, "while I am still cute". Cute isn't she!?

Up, up, and away! The variety of terrain hiking in the Gorge is great. We went through dense forest, over rivers, through recovering forest fire burn outs from decades ago, over large rock slide fields...Almost there...Xan trekking through a rock slide area.
Almost there...There were plenty of great viewpoints before actually getting to the top. This is a snapshot up the Columbia River toward home. Portland is in the background and Troutdale is just behind the farthest bluff. So much fun in our backyard!
We did it! The view from Angel's Rest was beautiful. Just sat there for awhile enjoying the breeze and having some snacks before heading back down. She doesn't think so, but I still think she is cute. 4.5 Miles roundtrip and 1,555 foot elevation gain.
